My name is Rick Grahn and I am a PhD student in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon University. 

Previously, I worked as a structural engineer and obtained my Professional Engineer certification in the State of California. I also served a year with Americorps providing affordable housing to residents in Oakland, CA. I have a BS in Civil Engineering (2009) and MS in Structural Engineering (2011) from the University of New Mexico.
